Recyclables will be accepted at the annual Mercer Island Spring Recycling Collection Event on Saturday, March 26, at the Island boat launch. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3600 East Mercer Way.

Only certain recyclables are acceptable, due to recycling regulations and environmental considerations. After the loss of state funding, a fee will now be charged for recycling televisions and computer monitors.

Suggested donations are nonperishable food with unexpired dates for the city's Youth and Family Services Food Pantry, or a cash contribution.

Mercer Island's new E-Cycle Washington location accepts computers, monitors, laptops and televisions for free. Computer accessories such as keyboards, mice and printers are accepted only at city recycling collection events. E-Cycle Washington is open for business Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 7835 S.E. 30th Street.

For a complete list of accepted and restricted items and applicable fees, see www.mercergov.org. Information about E-Cycle Washington can be found at www.ecyclewashington.org or by calling the Mercer Island location at (206) 355-6885.
