The people at Island Square Apartments have collected over $3,000 to purchase at least three ShelterBoxes for Japan. The boxes are modular temporary shelters used in disaster relief efforts. The group is holding another event to raise money to buy at least one more box.

On April 23, the Island Square community will hold a garage sale from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Residents Club on the main floor. For more information, contact Carolyn Celis, community director, Island Square Apartments, at (206) 838-8388 or ccelis@udr.com.
