April 19, 2011 · 2:47 PM
Drivers planning to use eastbound State Route 520 at night should plan to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington on Wednesday and Thursday nights, April 20 and 21.
All lanes of eastbound SR-520 between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and 92nd Avenue N.E. in Clyde Hill will be closed both nights from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
During the closures, crews will test and adjust equipment in preparation for tolling of the SR-520 bridge.
A flammable cargo restriction will also be in place on Interstate 90 between Seattle and Mercer Island through 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, for maintenance work on the fire suppression systems in the I-90 tunnels. On Wednesday night, no flammable cargo can be transported eastbound across Lake Washington on either floating bridge.
