A new agreement between the Mercer Island Police Department and Docview, LLC, allows traffic accident reports to be purchased online.

Drivers, insurance companies and legal offices can locate, buy and view an accident report within 24 hours of the report being processed through the use of online document management technology.

“It is an easier and more convenient way for all three parties to obtain the report, without having to make a formal request,” said Commander Leslie Burns.

Reports are available 24 hours per day via the Internet, intended to save customers and businesses time. Reports are converted to PDF format, making them easy to view, save, print and e-mail, and they cannot be modified.

Citizens may purchase a copy of their accident report online by going to www.docview.us.com and clicking on the “Private Citizen Purchase Crash Report” tab. Anyone wishing to purchase a report will need their case number and the date of the traffic accident.

For more, check the Mercer Island Police Department Web page, at www.mercergov.org under the “Departments” tab.
