Mercer Island native struck by car in New York City hit and run accident

Mercer Island native and Columbia rugby player Petyon Bell was hit by a car early Sunday morning in New York City. The 20-year-old is currently in critical condition, according to Rugbymag.com.

The apparent hit and run accident took place in New York City around 1:20 a.m. on Broadway. He was reportedly hit while getting out of a cab by a Mercedez-Benz, which did not stop.

According to the Rugby Maganize's website, he is in critical condition at a New York Hospital.

Bell is an economics and philosophy major at Colubmia University.
