Martin Literary Management of Mercer Island has signed a book deal with Amanda Knox's former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.
The book will be a memoir that includes several aspects of Sollecito's life in addition to the four-year saga in Perugia, Italy.
Literary agent Sharlene Martin said she believes that Sollecito and Knox are innocent. Knox and Sollecito, an Italian, appealed their verdict and were cleared of charges and freed from prison in 2011. Both were convicted in 2009 of the murder and sexual assault of Meredith Kercher. Other charges included possession of a weapon, interfering with a crime, and theft. A third suspect convicted in the murder case, Rudy Guede, remains in prison on a 16-year sentence.
Knox has signed a deal with attorney Robert Barnett to be represented for book deals, but only Sollecito is working with Martin Literary Management on a book.
