The City of Mercer Island is holding an open house on Tuesday, April 24 to begin the design process for a new fire station on the South End.

The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the south end station, located at 8473 S.E. 68th Street.

Miller Hull, the architects hired for the project, will have representatives at the meeting, as well as city staff. A brief presentation will begin at 6 p.m., but the meeting is largely to give the community a chance to express their thoughts or concerns.

The project is in the pre-design phase, meaning the City Council is gathering information and will decide later this year if it move forward.
