The Northwest Multiple Listing Service statistics for residential home sales for April indicate that for Mercer Island, both the number of sales that closed and final prices remained about the same as a year ago.

There were fewer home sales pending, but prices were within one percent of what they were in April of 2011.

The number of homes sold last month for both single-family homes and condominiums were up from  29 to 31, while seven more home sales were pending.

The number of homes on the market were down, however, from 136 on the market last year versus 99 last month.

The median closed home sale price was $859,000 last month, up 1 percent over a year ago.
