Woman rescues toddler from middle of Island Crest Way

A 32-year-old woman found a toddler standing in the middle of Island Crest Way at S.E. 42nd Street at 2:02 p.m. on Thursday, May 10. One other witness was present.

Police checked the area for the boy's home. An hour later his mother, a resident of 85th Avenue S.E., one block away, called 911 and reported that the boy, 2 1/2 years old, was missing. The boy was taken home, and a report was forwarded to Child Protective Services.
