The Washington Department of Transportation will be closing the State Route 520 bridge twice this week for continued construction work.
Crews will close the westbound lanes of SR 520 overnight on Wednesday, May 30 to do overhead utility work. The bridge will also be closed over the weekend, beginning Friday, June 1 at 11 p.m. and reopening at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 4.
This weekend crews will demolish the another overpass to begin improvement for the new lidded overpass at 92nd Ave. N.E. Plans also include work on the final 34 girders needed for the new Evergreen Point Road lidded overpass in Medina.
Due to the closure, WSDOT expects that traffic across Interstate 90 this weekend, especially during midday, will be higher than usual. WSDOT will change the express lane schedule to help with traffic flow.
On Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 the express lanes on I-90 will be open westbound from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
