National Night Out is Aug. 7
July 11, 2012 · Updated 11:51 AM
The City of Mercer Island is hosting the fifth annual “National Night Out” on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The 29th annual event in the United States promotes crime prevention and preparedness. Around 70 cities in Washington participate in the event, and last year, 28 Mercer Island neighborhoods took part.
National Night Out is an organized event for neighbors to come together to raise their crime prevention awareness and generate support for emergency preparedness. It’s also a chance for families and neighbors to meet and learn about the area.
This year, the event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 7.
To register a neighborhood, contact Mercer Island Police Officer Jennifer Franklin at (206) 275-7905 or email jennifer.franklin@mercergov.org.
