A power outage on Mercer Island has affected the electronic signs on I-90. As a result, the I-90 express lanes will remain open in the westbound direction through late afternoon today. WSDOT crews are unable to change the electronic signs and reverse the gates to allow eastbound traffic into the lanes.

The I-90 express lanes are estimated to open in the eastbound direction by 4 p.m., based on estimates provided by Puget Sound Energy. The I-90 express lanes are normally open Monday through Friday in the westbound direction from 1 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The lanes normally open in the eastbound direction by 2 p.m.

The power outage has affected more than 50 Puget Sound Energy customers on Mercer Island.
