The Mercer Island School District board of directors will hold their first meeting of October on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the board room with a study session to discuss community engagement with Triangle Associates.

The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will recognize the district's National Merit Semifinalists, as well as the student who received the Nordstrom Scholarship.

The board will also heard about the Islander Middle School school improvement plan, as well as a discussion of moving meetings to the City Council Chambers.

The board may consider moving their monthly meetings to City Hall so meetings can be televised, like the City Council's.
