Record number of voters registered for upcoming election

Washington state has a total of 3.9 million registered voters this year, a new record. In 2008, the total number was 3.63 million. Since the August primary, 180,000 new voters have registered, according to the Office of Secretary of State.

King County has 1,177,297 active registered voters, and 138,913 inactive registered voters. There are 362,138 active registered voters in the 9th Congressional District, and 91,024 in the 41st Legislative District. Mercer Island is part of the 9th and the 41st districts.
