The Washington State Department of Transportation will host an Interstate 90 tolling public scoping meeting this evening beginning at 4 p.m. at the Mercer Island Community & Events Center.

The meeting will feature several display boards that show how tolling works, proposed tolling options, and what the environmental assessment will study posted around the room. WSDOT Toll Division staff will be available to answer questions about the I-90 tolling environment assessment, the purpose of the scoping meeting and how the public can share their thoughts and opinions throughout the evening.

People are welcome to drop in at any time between 4 and 7 p.m. There will be no formal meeting. No public comments will be recorded.

WSDOT is currently studying the potential environmental and social effects of tolling I-90 across Lake Washington. Tonight’s meeting is the first of three and an opportunity for the public to ask questions and share their thoughts about I-90 tolling.

Craig Stone, Toll Division assistant secretary and John White, Toll Division tolled corridor director, will speak briefly at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. to give a brief overview of what WSDOT hopes to accomplish during this first phase of the project.
