Mercer Island spring recycling event April 13

The annual spring recycling event on Mercer Island will take place on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mercer Island Boat Launch.

Items accepted at the event include: tires, motor oil, filters and antifreeze, lead acid batteries and household goods and clothing. Porcelain toilets and sinks are accepted for a $10 fee, while propane tanks are a $5 fee, as are appliances and scrap metal. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are accepted for a $10 fee, the same with mattresses. All fees are cash only.

Computers and televisions will not be accepted, neither will cleaning products or household chemicals.
