Interim Fire Chief Chris Tubbs, right, was formally announced as the new head of the Island’s fire department during a ceremony held on Monday at city hall. Next to Tubbs is his replacement, the new deputy chief Steve Heitman. Other promotions celebrated during the event were new Fire Lieutenant Steve McCoy and Police Sergeant Ryan Parr, who was also named officer of the year in April.
