Iams, Eukanuba dog food recalled for possible Salmonella contamination

The Proctor & Gamble Company has recalled Iams and Eukanuba dry pet food because of possible Salmonella contamination.

No Salmonella related illnesses have been reported in any pets in relation to the products.

Salmonella affects animals which eat the product, and there is some risk to humans who handled contaminated food.

The possible contamination is limited to specific pet food lots. The products were made within a 10-day window at a single manufacturing site. Routine testing found that some of the products made during that time were potentially contaminated.

P&G is recalling the products as a precaution. Customers who purchased any of the products listed should stop using it and call 800-208-0172 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Customers can also learn more by visiting www.iams.com or www.eukanuba.com.
