Almost 300 people turned out for the first ever “Band Together” Event Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center. It was hosted by the Mercer Island Schools Band Boosters. The event featured a silent auction, a live auction and a performance from the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra.

Led by the auctioneering duo of band director Parker Bixby and Band Booster board member Bob Reitinger, the event raised over $40,000 to support and promote the 5-12 grade band programs of the Mercer Island School District. Auction items included a Whidbey Island Getaway, a fishing trip for four on Puget Sound, Seattle Symphony concert tickets and more.
