A car was nearly driven over a 20-foot ravine in the 1600 block of Evergreen Lane on Mercer Island just before 12:30 p.m. this afternoon. The car remained partially suspended over the cliff until fire trucks, medic units and police arrived at the scene. Of the five people who were trapped inside, none were injured.
