MISD names Carlisle associate principal at Mercer Island High School

Mercer Island School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Plano will present Henterson Carlisle to the MISD board of directors at its Aug. 13 meeting for confirmation as associate principal at Mercer Island High School. Carlisle will replace Jeff D'Ambrosio, who left the district in July for a principalship in the Snoqualmie Valley School District.

Carlisle comes to Mercer Island after having served as principal and assistant principal with Seattle Public Schools. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University in economics and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington, having graduated from the Danforth program. Carlisle began his teaching career with Seattle Public Schools teaching math, reading and science at the middle school level. He served for a number of years as assistant principal at Madrona Middle School, the African-American Academy and Madison Middle School, where he served for four years and was promoted to principal.

“Henterson joins a hugely talented team of school leaders, and I look forward to working with him,” Plano said in a release.
