The city is holding a drop-in meeting tonight, April 16, at the Community Center at Mercer View to review the revisions made on Island Crest Way at the intersection of Merrimount Drive and S.E. 44th Street. Island citizens are encouraged to come anytime between 7 and 9 p.m.

City staff and the consultant team hired to monitor the intersection will be present and available to discuss the results of their review and the next steps for the project.

In October of 2007, the City installed temporary improvements to the intersection of Island Crest Way and Merrimount Drive. The effectiveness of these improvements has been monitored since installation.

Comment forms will be available at the meeting and on the Web page. In order for comments to be compiled for City Council review at the scheduled council meeting, comments are due by April 21.

The Council will make its decisions regarding the intersection during its annual roads and transportation planning sessions in May and June. Please contact the project manager, Anne Tonella-Howe, at 275-7813 or by e-mail at anne.tonella-howe@mercergov.org if you have any questions.

Data will also be posted on the project Web page: www.mercergov.org/ICWmerrimount.
