Reporter wins WNPA General Excellence Award

The Mercer Island Reporter took first place in the annual Washington Newspaper Publishers Association Better Newspaper Contest. The Reporter won in the 5,000 circulation category for issues printed from April 1, 2007 through March 2008.

Reporter writers Elizabeth Celms and J. Jacob Edel also won individual awards for their coverage.

The Reporter staff took awards for advertising and special sections, including the annual Holiday Greetings section. The supplement features Christmas and Hanukkah drawings by Mercer Island school children, matched with local merchants and agencies who sponsor the art.
