The School District and the Mercer Island Education Association (MIEA) have mutually agreed to amend the 2006-2007 school calendar due to weather related conditions and the unprecedented nature of school closures. The School Board has approved a waiver of the days missed due to the power outage (3 days for grades K-8, 2 days grades 9-12). Subject to OSPI approval, school will end on June 26, 2007.

In recognition of the loss of three days of instructional time, the district and the MIEA have agreed that the following early release Mondays will be extended to full school days:

Elementary students will attend for a full day on the following Mondays: March 5, March 12, April 2, April 16 and April 23. School will be in session from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Middle School students will attend for a full day on the following Mondays: March 5, March 12, April 2, April 16 and April 23. School will be in session from 8:25 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

High School students will attend for a full day on the following Mondays: March 5, March 12, April 2 and April 23. School will be in session from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on these days.
