MIHS student has Whooping cough
November 24, 2008 · Updated 4:30 PM
A Mercer Island High School student was recently diagnosed with pertussis, or whooping cough. Since November, a total of five students have been diagnosed with whooping cough in the district. Four were enrolled at Islander Middle School.
The student was potentially contagious at school between Nov. 13 and Dec. 1. Students who attended school during those dates and who have had a cold or cough that began between Nov. 19 and Dec. 22 should visit a doctor and be tested for pertussis.
