Someone broke into a Ford Excursion sport utility vehicle during the night of Nov. 9, in the 3200 block of 72nd Place S.E. Stolen were a Canon digital camera and a purse that contained bank debit cards. Loss is estimated at $325.
Between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Nov. 9, a boys' Bassett Blaze brand mountain bike was stolen from the bike rack of Lakeridge Elementary School, in the 8200 block of S.E. 78th Street.
A log barrier was damaged and tire tracks remain where someone during the night of Nov. 5 drove a vehicle over a lawn in the 6400 block of S.E. 24th Street.
Mail stolen from
On Nov. 5, a resident of the 4700 block of East Mercer Way reported missing mail from a locking mail box. The box was still locked, and no damage was reported to the box.
No one was injured, and no damage reported when an Island man's car smashed into the back of a vehicle driven by the man's ex-girlfriend at about 9 p.m. Nov. 5, on 84th Avenue S.E. just north of S.E. 68th Street. The woman had been driving recklessly around and in front of the man's vehicle attempting to get him to stop his vehicle, just prior to the crash. The woman's vehicle pulled in front of the man's and braked. The man was unable to stop his vehicle before it hit the back of the woman's car.
At about 2 p.m., Nov. 4, someone entered the window of a house in the 4100 block of Holly Lane and made off with a sports bag filled with goods from the home. The suspect is described as a white male. He was seen a few blocks from the home after the incident. He is believed to have entered the home by taking out a screen on a window and climbing into the house. Missing are a CD player, Apple Ipod mini, Nintendo Game Boy, Sony camcorder, Dell laptop computers, a flute with case, silver dinnerware set, assorted jewelry and 35mm film. When the resident returned to the home at about 2 p.m., the front door of the home had been left open.
No one was injured in a collision at about noon Nov. 3, in the 4700 block of East Mercer Way near Fernwood Lane. An Island man in a 1993 Jeep Wrangler was driving north on East Mercer Way at a slow speed when a Bellevue man, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, was traveling south and attempted to slow his vehicle on wet pavement. The Malibu crossed the center line and struck the Jeep head-on.
A 14-year-old Island boy reported that a 15-year-old Island boy attacked him at about 2 p.m., Nov. 7, in the 2800 block of West Mercer Way. The older boy knocked the youth down and punched him several times, according to the police report.
