November 24, 2008 · Updated 4:37 PM
Two constructions workers received life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning when a two-story, pre-constructed wall fell on them. The accident occurred at about 7:20 a.m., Oct. 5, at a new home under construction in the 4200 block of Shoreclub Drive. A group of workers were involved in raising the wall when there was a catastrophic failure, according to fire department records. The wall twisted and snapped the braces and cross members, then fell back onto two of the workers. The other workers were able to get the wall of the two men and begin treating them before the Island Fire Department arrived at the scene. Both workers were stabilized and transported to Harborview Medical Center. The men suffered hip, leg, back and internal injuries, according to the police report. The condition of the men is not being released, due to privacy laws.
