Mercer Island resident Dennis Dahl is the YMCA's 2004 Financial Development Volunteer of the Year.

Dahl has been involved in the YMCA Parent-Child Program for more than five years with his daughters, Karen and Kristen, in various leadership roles from ``tribe chief'' to ``expedition navigator.''

As division leader for the Partners with Youth fundraiser, Dahl was influential in leading his division to making 160 percent of goal by sharing his personal experiences, stories and charitable giving philosophy to encourage more Parent-Child participants to contribute and give at a higher level than ever before.

Dahl will be officially recognized at the YMCA's annual meeting Tuesday, April 26 at Benaroya Hall.
