School supply drive
Mercer Island Youth and Family Services, along with Redeemer Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran churches, began its school supply drive for 50 low-income children of all ages. Supplies were dropped off at YFS offices Aug. 5, and will again be dropped off Aug. 26. The supplies will be distributed on Aug. 29 and 30. To donate to the YFS Family Assistance Program, call Sharon Broz at 236-3532.
Critical Area Ordinance revisions
The Planning Commission will consider the city's revised proposed Critical Area Ordinance application for amendments related standards at its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 9611 S.E. 36th St.^kaCitizens and other interested parties are encouraged to submit comments to the Development Services Department at the following mi-dsg@ci.mercer-island.wa.us.
