Mercer Island High School dedicated the gymnasium to longtime boys basketball coach Ed Pepple and his wife, Shirley, prior to the game against Bellevue on Friday. Pepple has the most wins in Washington state boys high school basketball history.

Pepple retired in March of last year after a 49-year career, 42 years of which were spent at Mercer Island. Pepple's 952 career victories make him the winningest basketball coach in state history.
