Islander Ken Claflin has a colorful photo series entitled “In a Different Light” on show at the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce gallery this month.

The vibrant time-lapse photographs capture the night sky of Seattle and Bellevue, illuminated with neon and the taillights of cars. Claflin’s work is inspired by memories of his childhood in downtown Seattle.

The show runs through April 16. Claflin will be present for a “meet the artist” reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on March 18. The Chamber of Commerce is located at 7605 Southeast 27th Street.
