I-90, I-405 traffic advisory for Mercer Island

Travelers and commuters on I-90 and I-405 will confront detours this week as multiple construction projects continue along the highways.

At 11 p.m. on May 26, crews will close westbound I-90 at East Mercer Way and detour traffic onto East Mercer Way. The following ramps will close at 9 p.m.: Bellevue Way to westbound I-90 HOV and southbound I-405 to westbound I-90. All roads will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday.

At midnight on May 27, crews will close westbound I-90 at East Mercer Way and detour traffic onto the I-90 center roadway and back to the westbound I-90 mainline at Rainier Avenue.

They will also close the following ramps:

• West Mercer Way to westbound I-90

• 76th Ave. S.E. to westbound I-90

• Island Crest Way to westbound I-90

• East Mercer Way to westbound I-90

• Bellevue Way to westbound I-90

Mercer Island drivers headed to westbound I-90 will need to enter the express lanes via 77th Avenue or northbound Island Crest Way.
