A 16-year-old boy was struck by a car just after 3 p.m. Tuesday as he walked his bike across a crosswalk in the 4200 block of Island Crest Way, according to Cmdr. Leslie Burns of the Mercer Island Police Department.

"The driver just didn't see him," Burns said.

The teen was taken to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue for minor injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation and the driver has not yet been cited. More details will be posted as they become available.
