Mercer Island car prowl suspect arrested in Renton | Police Blotter

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in Mercer Island. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

April 13

PROWLING: A woman said she left her car unsecured, and that it was prowled between 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of 76th Ave. SE. Her purse, containing her driver’s license, Social Security card and two credit cards, was stolen. She canceled both cards and notified the credit unions.

MORE PROWLING: A woman in the 2900 block of 81st Place SE said at 1:22 p.m. that her car was prowled in the same time frame as other prowls and a motor vehicle theft. Some of the reported stolen property was recovered, and returned to the victim. The suspect was in custody on related charges at the Renton Police Department.

MORE PROWLING: A car prowl and theft were reported in the 2900 block of 81st Place SE at 7:59 p.m.

April 15

PROWLING: A victim said their vehicle was prowled in the 6600 block of 84th Ave. SE at 3:01 p.m. They also reported theft and property damage.

THEFT: A woman said she placed her wallet and cell phone on a bench and went on a walk with her kids at 5:46 p.m. in the 2000 block of 84th Ave. SE. When she returned, the wallet was gone.

April 16

FRAUD: Priceline notified a man at 7:50 a.m. that his credit card was used without permission to book a hotel in Lynnwood.
