The Mercer Island boys soccer team fell to Interlake on Friday, April 19 in a 3-2 KingCo showdown.

Mercer Island had the early lead when Sean Bender scored an unassisted goal in the 30th minute of the match. Interlake’s Nate Lafavour scored, assisted by Gaberial Simental, in the 45th minute to tie the match. Connor Nielson gave Mercer Island the 2-1 lead on an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute.

The game remained in the Islanders favor until the 78th minute with the Lafavour, Simental duo struck again, tying the game 2-2. Rohan Sehgal scored for Interlake in the 88th minute, lifting the Saints to the win.

The Islanders will host Juanita on Tuesday, April 23 in a 7:30 p.m. game.
