The Mercer Island boys soccer team traveled to play Mount Si on Tuesday, April 30, falling 2-1 to the Wildcats.

The Mercer Island boys soccer team traveled to play Mount Si on Tuesday, April 30, falling 2-1 to the Wildcats.

Mount Si’s Kody Clearman was the first to strike, scoring an unassisted goal in the 4th minute of the game. The team earned a 2-0 lead in the 30th minute when Evan Betz, assisted by Riley Evans scored the second Mount Si goal.

Mercer Island tried to even the score in the 52nd minute off a goal by Sean Bender, assisted by Nate Schuler, but couldn’t score the second goal to tie the game.

The Islanders will play Bellevue on Thursday, May 2 in a 7:30 p.m. game at Bellevue High School.
