Mercer Island Rotary announces February students of the month

Alison Cary and Aidan Dobson recognized for leadership.

Mercer Island High School seniors Alison Cary and Aidan Dobson were the Mercer Island Rotary Club’s students of the month for February.

Cary is an honors student with a 3.96 cumulative unweighted GPA.

She is a member of the MIHS National Honor Society, and currently serves as the MIHS Entrepreneurship Club Secretary and treasurer of the MIHS H.E.L.P. Club. She helps organize mental health workshops with Natural Helpers and is a senior mentor for the Island Sound Choral Experience.

In addition to the H.E.L.P. Club, Cary’s volunteer experience includes her service with the Forefront Youth Suicide Prevention Program, MIHS Kids Corps, Global Visionaries and Mercer Island Youth and Family Services on the organization’s Healthy Youth Initiative Mental Health Committee.

Dobson has a 3.92 GPA and is a member of the National Honors Society. In addition, he was a presidential scholar candidate this year, and a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist in 2017.

Dobson’s leadership experience includes his service as treasurer of the ASB, president of the Kids Corps after-school tutoring program, president and captain of the MIHS co-ed ultimate frisbee team and treasurer of the Women in STEM club.

His volunteer service includes his service as a tutor with the Kids Corps and Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.
