Several cars prowled on south end of Mercer Island | Police Blotter

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in Mercer Island. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 6

LOST PROPERTY: A juvenile said he lost his wallet at a bus stop in the 8000 block of N. Mercer Way at 6:11 p.m.

Jan. 7

PROWLING: A vehicle was prowled at a Pioneer Park trailhead in the 6600 block of 84th Ave. SE at 9:07 a.m. The passenger window was smashed and a purse was taken from the foot well. A stolen credit card was used at the south Chevron station. Police said they had possible descriptions of the suspect and their vehicle from other related prowls.

WARRANT ARREST: A subject was arrested by Auburn police on an outstanding warrant from MIPD at 1:07 a.m., and booked into SCORE Jail.

THEFT: A delivered package containing various cosmetics was reported stolen from a victim’s condo in the 2900 block of 76th Ave. SE at 7:42 a.m.

MISCHIEF: A woman parked her car in the 6400 block of 84th Ave. SE at 8:30 a.m. When she returned 20 minutes later, she found the right back window shattered, causing $300 in damage, though nothing appeared to be missing.

PROWLING: A vehicle parked on the south side of Mercer Island High School, by the basketball court, was prowled at 9:30 a.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed, causing $300 in damage, and a UW T-shirt was possibly missing.

MORE PROWLING: Two unlocked vehicles were entered at the Saddle Club at 9 a.m. A cell phone was stolen from one, and two bags and a jacket were stolen from the other. The credit and debit cards that were stolen were cancelled before they were used. Police said a suspect vehicle and subjects were seen in the area, but did not confirm if they were involved.

PROWLING: A car prowl and property damage were reported in the 2700 block of 76th Ave. SE at 11:14 a.m.

Jan. 10

FRAUD: A woman in the 4200 block of 89th Ave. SE said at 8:20 a.m. that charges were made on her Macy’s account without her permission, for a loss of $1,943.76.

DEATH INVESTIGATION: A patient with an extensive stroke history and a DNR on file passed away at a lunch table in the 7800 block of SE 30th St. at 1:51 p.m.

REPORT: A subject dropped off ammunition for destruction in the 9600 block of SE 36th St. at 3:49 p.m.

Jan. 11

BURGLARY: A burglary, property damage and theft were reported in the 2900 block of 74th Ave. SE at 8:06 a.m.
