Suspect uses BB or pellet gun to break car windows in Mercer Island | Police Blotter

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in Mercer Island. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

May 13

WARRANT ARREST: A suspect was arrested on a no bail warrant out of the Port Townsend Sheriff’s Office in the 3800 block of E. Mercer Way at 10:36 a.m.

ANOTHER ARREST: A suspect was stopped for a traffic violation in the 7400 block of E. Mercer Way at 3:36 p.m., and arrested on an outstanding felony warrant out of Texas, and booked into King County Jail for transfer to Texas.

May 14

MISCHIEF: A man said his vehicle window was broken out in the 4000 block of W. Mercer Way at 12:05 p.m.

MORE MISCHIEF: The passenger window of a vehicle parked overnight in the 2400 block of 84th Ave. SE was reported to have been shot out by a BB or pellet gun at 1:59 p.m., for a loss of $300.

BROKEN WINDOW: A woman in the 4300 block of W. Mercer Way said at 2:32 p.m. that her vehicle’s driver’s side window was broken out.

May 15

FORGERY: Police received a report from a subject in the 3000 block of Island Crest Way at 12:15 p.m. that a client had filled out an information sheet using false information, and that she used her boyfriend’s credit card to pay for a treatment. The subject then received notice from her bank that the boyfriend disputed the charge, and was granted a charge back.

May 16

MISCHIEF: A woman in the 3200 block of W. Mercer Way said at 10:47 a.m. that someone broke out her vehicle window sometime over the weekend.

May 17

BURGLARY: A subject reported that their storage unit was burglarized in the 7700 block of Sunset Highway at 5:27 p.m., and items were stolen.

May 21

DUI: A vehicle was stopped for equipment and registration violations in the 8000 block of SE 27th St. at 1:51 a.m. The driver had a strong odor of intoxicants, and admitted consuming alcohol. They failed field sobriety tests, and were arrested and processed at the Mercer Island Police Department, where they provided BAC readings of 0.142 and 0.140.
