CAROL (CROOK) FISHER

On Tuesday, October, 16, 2018 Carol (Crook) Fisher, “Crookie” passed away at the age of 83 after a brief struggle with cancer.

Carol grew up in Aberdeen, WA. She was a national honors society scholar and editor of the school newspaper at Aberdeen High School. Carol continued her education at Washington State University and graduated with honors in 1957. Besides her academic accomplishments, Carol was president of her sorority Pi Beta Phi and a member of Fish Fans, a competitive synchronized swimming team. She was kind hearted and well loved by all and was voted “top 20” at Washington State University.

While teaching elementary school in Seattle, Carol met her husband Jack Fisher. They were married on June 13, 1959 and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They raised their two children on Mercer Island and Carol was active in PEO and Woman’s University Club. During their many years of marriage, Carol and Jack traveled extensively both for pleasure and philanthropy.

Carol is preceded in death by her son Jeff Fisher and will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jack Fisher, her daughter Jennifer Mattox (Steve), her grandchildren Lindsey (Matt), Georgia and Jack and her great grandchildren, Emmett and Elliot.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 2, at 2 pm.
