Jean Stanberry Smith, 81, died June 30, 2017 in Bellevue, Washington.

Jean was born July 28, 1935 in Port Angeles, Washington, to Boyd and Charles Stanberry. In Yreka, California Jean met Firman Smith and they were married after graduation.

They moved to Mercer Island in 1972 with their children Roderick, Gregory and Stephanie. Jean enjoyed a long real estate career. Jean and Firman enjoyed their sailboat and friendships at Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club.

Jean was preceded in death by parents Charles Stanberry, Boyd and Ferd Simmons, brother Harry Simmons, and son Roderick Smith.

Jean is survived by husband Firman Smith and daughter Stephanie Smith of Bellevue, Washington; and son Gregory Smith and granddaughter Hazel Jordan of Olympia, Washington.

A memorial will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2-4 p.m. at Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club in Bellevue, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the MBYC Endowment Trust or MBYC Youth Sailing Foundation are appreciated.
