ROBERT E. CARLSON

Robert E. Carlson, 93 years of age, passed away on May 8, 2017 at Quail Park Retirement Community in Lynnwood, WA with his loving wife and family by his side.

Bob was born in San Diego, CA on October 27, 1923, moving with his parents to Twisp, WA when he was 3 years old. He attended schools at Twisp, and attended Washington State College.

He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II, stationed in Missouri and the Pentagon. Shortly afterward, he joined The Boeing Co., retiring as Superintendent of Plant Services in 1987 after 39 years.

Bob was a former resident of Mercer Island since 1961, before moving to Quail Park in Lynnwood in 2013. He was a member of the Mercer Island Beach Club, Bellevue Athletic Club, Probus Club of Mercer Island, and Boeing Management Association. Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, golf, tennis, skiing and boating. Bob and his wife Betty enjoyed their retirement travelling and spending the winters in Palm Desert.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn who passed away in 1993. Survivors include his loving wife and best friend Betty of 23 years; daughters Sandra (Kevin) Ruggles, Gayle (Keven) McGinnis; Sharon (Todd) Bradbury. Bob had six grandchildren: Brian and Carly Ruggles; Christopher (Kim) McGinnis, Michael McGinnis, Austin and Colton Bradbury, and great grandchildren; MacKenzie Ford, Kennedy and Harloe McGinnis.

Bob was also a family figure to all and the greatest of gentlemen. He had a ready smile and quick wit that will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the outstanding Staff at Quail Park of Lynnwood, our loving caregivers and the Lynnwood EMT/paramedics for countless trips and compassion.

At Bob’s request, there will not be a service, but donations can be made to The Museum of Flight. Friends may sign the online guestbook and view his life journey at www.Flintofts.com
