For the past three months, I have been working with a group of people putting on the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Give from the Heart Breakfast. This breakfast raises money for MIYFS programs that touch literally hundreds of our neighbors and friends each year, supporting the MIYFS vision of a healthy Mercer Island community for all adults, children and youth. I am happy to say, this year, 10 of our local businesses are contributing to the Give from the Heart Campaign by donating 25 percent of purchases on Wednesday, Feb. 9, to the MIYFS Foundation. I encourage everyone to drop by and shop on the day of the breakfast at the following businesses and support the Give from the Heart program: Alpenland, Auto Spa, Island Books, Lilly’s, Mud Bay, Pete’s South end Chevron, Sahara Pizza, Six Walls, Studio 904 and Tatters. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Join us in thanking these businesses and give from the heart all day, Feb. 9, by shopping to help support our Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.
