OK, so I’m out walking my beautiful Samoyed dog when she stops to do her business on someone’s lawn. While I’m donning a bright pink poop bag (hard to NOT see) on my hand in preparation for removal, a woman comes out of her house and says, “Oh, I don’t like that…” So I tried to explain to her that in the two-plus years that I have owned my dog that I have NEVER left a poop behind. She then says, “Well, I just spent $300 to thatch and re-seed my lawn,” so I said she could come see if I had left any poop on her grass. She says, “Well, I’m worried about the grass seed that was put down there.” I assured her that we weren’t going to ruin her attempt to salvage her yard, and things only got worse from there. She got nasty, and I got irritated.

I am not generally a confrontational person, but cranky homeowners who are going to give me @#$* about my dogs’ @#$* should know that I am a very conscientious dog owner. I will often use more than one bag to remove deposits and will scrape the grass to leave no evidence. I also sometimes pick up other dog’s poop left behind by not-so-conscientious dog owners. So, I would appreciate if you see me walking my pretty white dog, and she stops to poop on your lawn, think twice before you start with the nastiness. Life is too short, and in the end, your lawn may be even better than when we arrived.
