Regarding your ‘paved with glory’ photograph printed in the issue of July 6 on page 5.

Credit needs to be given where and to whom it is due. For 23 years, the flags have been given by Coldwell Banker Bain and ‘planted’ by Coldwell Banker Bain agents of the Mercer Island office. It is a gift to the community as a whole. The work is backbreaking and demanding; proper spacing and the ‘upright’ positioning of each flag is a must. The agents give freely of the time and energy for the community and visitor’s enjoyment (occasional assistance has been given generally by Mercer Island sports teams).

Thank you, Coldwell Banker Bain and their agents and any helpers for another year of beautification, and thank you also for the gift of daffodil bulbs in October for planting to beautify our Island after a dull and dreary winter. The bursting yellow blossoming of daffodils in the spring is joyous.

Editor’s Note: A correction concerning the flags was printed in the July 13 issue of the Reporter.
