A most sincere “Thank you for your patience” to the Mercer Island motorists whose Thursday commute was slowed by the “Tour De Gary” Memorial Ride. What was envisioned as a handful of close friends paying tribute to a cycling partner and mentor, immediately preceding his memorial service, grew exponentially in a day. Gary Strauss was a well-known attorney, devoted community volunteer and a dedicated cycling enthusiast whose love of the sport included an active role in ride safety for cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles. The Mercer Island Police Department won kudos from everyone involved with their attention to detail, their support and professional expertise.

We thank you all.
