Letter | MIVAL anniversary
July 27, 2011 · 3:16 PM
Borrowing from sports, hitting three bases constitutes a home run. That is exactly what Mercer Island Visual Arts has done in the last week for our community with three events. I appreciated the Junior Arts Show last weekend (hosted by Wells Fargo), the 50th Anniversary celebration now at the MICC (until Aug. 5), as well as the luncheon Thursday, July 21, which honored those founding and fostering the Arts League for five decades. Their luncheon was not only an esthetic opportunity for us, but their displays and comments (starting from 1961) also define them as expert historians.
