Bravo to all of you at the Reporter for covering MIVAL’s special 50th Anniversary activities. Our luncheon last Thursday was a resounding success with over 100 attendees. We honored our special guests who were long time members and founders. Did you know that it all started in 1961 with founder, Ren Haugland, writing a letter to the Mercer Is Reporter asking if any Mercer Islanders wanted to start an art association. Fifty years later, Ren came to the luncheon from his home in Randle, WA to find a strong and vital association still actively participating in all the arts on Mercer island.

Thank you for your continuing support of the arts.
