Letter | School Board should reverse voters' pamphlet decision

March 1, 2012 · 9:53 AM

Having asked Ken Glass last week to add my name to the list of supporters for the April 17 bond vote, I had to ask today to have it removed because of the vote not to use the King County voter information about it. I value equally both support of our schools and transparency in the actions of my elected officials.

I was simply incredulous that the MI Board did not choose to use that publication to inform us. (I became aware of the vote after I had asked to be listed as a supporter. Being unable to reach Ken this morning, I left my request with C. George on her answering service. I talked to him later in the day about my reason.) I value both the mission and the method — your vote put those equal and vital decisions at odds.

As I understand from talking with the King County elections office, you still have several days to change this decision. Please do so.
