Letter | QFC Hometown Hero

July 24, 2012 · 10:40 AM

North Mercer QFC customers asked the City of Mercer Island to honor Michael Mitchell as a Hometown Hero in the Summer Celebration Parade. Michael was the assistant manager of the seafood department and passed away in May after a long battle with cancer.

Michael’s family rode in the parade and his friends were thrilled that he has been remembered so fondly by our community. Thank you to those customers who nominated him, and thank you to Katie Herzog of the Mercer Island Parks Department, who made the honor happen.
